The boys and Alie had a hard time waking up. So I gladly compromised with sleeping 2 more hours.
We didn't end up leaving our hotel til 12 though! Whoops!
We got lunch at a place called, "Corner Bakery Cafe", and it was really good.
Then we took another trek over to Smithsonian National American History Museum.
DJ was in heaven and had to read everything. It pushed me to take more time in each little section.
The bottom level of the museum showed the progression of things like phones, music, computers, clothes, etc.
Alie loves our little game.
His goal was an "easy to use technology such as the macintosh computer and iPhone, designed not for geeks and nerds but for the rest of us".
Love it.
Fire truck.
Boooooo.
Alexander Graham Bell is not a very liked person in the deaf community.
He thought deaf students should be forced to speak in the classroom.
He started this movement and soon their hands would be hit if they signed.
This actually happened for a loooong time.
He is a loser.
To the right of this, there was a room with the first American Flag.
There were great quotes, and pictures that reminded me what the flag represents.
The girls got bored waiting for DJ and had a little photoshoot...
While we were in the museum, we ran into the Spillsbury family!
They are traveling for 22 days and hitting all the touristy stuff on the east coast! Crazy!
After the museum we walked over to the Air and Space Museum.
First we needed treats/water of course.
Just blocking out the haterz.
We needed to relax for a second, so we got tickets for an imax movie.
I learned a thing or two about space/astronauts. It made me want to travel to the moon. But I also think I would NEVER have the courage even if it became a normal thing in society.
This room was about the planes in WW2. This picture was to honor my great grandpa that fixed those planes. He was a funny man.
Haha. He is copying how the astronaut is standing.
We decided this is Arizona.
This probably was probably my least favorite museum.
It was still cool and interesting, but a lot was over my head.
I couldn't really appreciate it.
The kids loved it though!
Loft jean twinners.
Once everyone was crashing, we decided to take a taxi to dinner.
We went to "Good stuff eatery". It was another place Meagan recommended, so we decided to try it out! Oh boy. It was really good! The oreo shake tasted like actual cookies n cream ice cream.
We decided to make one more trip before heading back to the hotel.
We got an Uber and went to Virginia (it's only like 5 minutes away via car) to see the Marine Corps War Memorial. I'm sure you will recognize the famous picture of the soldiers holding up the flag.
This memorial is "a symbol of our Nations high regard for the honored dead of the Marine Corps".
