DJ got his mission call!!!
He is going to the Alpine, Germany mission which includes Austria, Switzerland and of course Germany! He reports August 5th to the Preston MTC!
Here's the story.
We anticipated he would get his call while we were in Hawaii, but we were just waiting for the stake president to text him that it was assigned. Finally by Sunday, he texted us and said it was assigned March 6th! That meant it was for sure at our house!
Unfortunately we didn't land in Phoenix til 12, so he couldn't even open it until 1 am!
We got home, and we found this letter.
PC: Alison.

PS. Right after I posted this, his "real call" came in the mail! The mail man apologized for accidentally keeping it!

I was kind of nervous that it wasn't the packet but thought whatevs.
He opened it and FREAKED OUT!!! He was smiling with so much joy, but he wouldn't tell us where he was going. He started looking for the letter but he couldn't find it. Finally he managed to tell us that he was going to Germany!! This was seriously his dream mission.
1. He took up to German 3 in high school.
2. My grandpa served there and then went back with my grandma for a couples mission.
He was secretly hoping for years he would get called there and he got his wish!
Turns out, his actual letter is lost in the mail somewhere. What he did open was his travel plans and what he needs to do to prepare. Fortunately it listed the name of his mission, the language, mission pres, which MTC he would report to, and when. So it was practically like a mission call.
We all searched through the stack of mail at least 3 times, checked his room, my parents room...EVERYWHERE! We still haven't received his actual call.
Then all of our personalites came out.
Alie took pictures of everything and everyone.
Mom made a list ahead of time of everyone she needed to text to share the good news and then got to work texting them!
Dad looking it up on the map. Turns out "Alpine" isn't a place. It means alps, so it's talking about the region.
Nate read the letter.
I looked up the mission website to find out as much as I could about it.
DJ called my grandparents to share the happy news then stayed up til like 3!
He is through the moon excited!
