DJ'S HOME

THE DAY OF DJ'S ARRIVAL

To be completely honest, it started on a really low note. My dad's mom passed away. My dad flew up to Utah on Tuesday afternoon when he heard that she was going down hill. He made it there by 6 and spent the next few days at the hospital. It was a very sweet, and positive thing he got to be there with his family. She passed 8:03 am and her birthday is 8/03.
My dad arrived home at like 6pm Thursday night. He was EXHAUSTED. He probably got 5 hours of sleep the whole time he was there.

DJ wasn't scheduled to arrived til 9:15pm. Which meant we had the day to distract ourselves.

There was still quite a bit to do so that kinda helped. We needed to finish his room, grocery shop, take some clothes to the dry cleaners, do laundry, etc etc. We also did some "self treating" and got Xaviers for lunch and got our eyebrows done. We had to look good for our family pictures on Saturday (not to mention the airport pictures).

We were pretty much on the go all day. I spent the day watching DJ's flight just in case he had a delay. GUESS WHAT GUYS. THERE WAS A STUPID STORM DURING HIS LAYOVER. I was literally praying all day that he wouldn't be stuck in Jersey. That would be the worst thing ever.

The upside is, he got to call home and my mom talked to him. (I NAPPED FOR 20 MINUTES AND MISSED THE CALL). His flight EVENTUALLY left and he was scheduled to land at 12:13am.
We called all our cousins, and half were still down and half couldn't make it anymore.

The other upside is, we didn't have to get ready for the day until 9:45pm. Haha.

IT FINALLY HIT 11:00PM AND WE WERE OFF.
Janice came and stayed with sleeping Conrad. It was a big decision whether to bring a cranky baby (who wouldn't be able to sleep the rest of the night) or put off the grand introduction. Morgan definitely made the right decision to keep him at home.

We got there and anxiously waited.

Don't mind my crazy. Haha.

#Candid @Morgan. ^^

Candid??

THEN WE GOT A NOTIFICATION THAT HIS PLANE LANDED 40 MINUTES EARLY!!!!!!!
None of our other family members were there yet! So we frantically taped our poster up to a wall since we didn't know if they'd be there in time to hold it.

They thankfully all still made it! We then stood there and waited.

Before I forgot, when Dalee walked up, we frantically handed her the camera and got in position.
All the pictures are 100% candid and she did a good job documenting EVERYTHING.
TBH, Al and I wanted to hire someone but my dad couldn't quite understand why we'd need that. So he wouldn't get on board. Dalee definitely came in clutch. Obsessed with DJ and all the pictures.

DJ has a very distinct walk and al spotted him as soon as we could see his step.
WE LOST IT.

**** He got a fitted European suit before he left.
DJ is SO not the type to wear fitted jeans. So we were shocked.
He looked SO good and happy.

Dad had the first hug.

Then mom.

Morgan.

Alie.

Me.

Nathan.

Then of course cousins and grandpa.

"HELP!!!!!!!" MY MAKEUP!!!!!!!

DJ was so normal. I was honestly so shocked.
He is also happy and transitioning better than I even thought possible.
SO HAPPY FOR HIM.

Even though he had zero sleep, we still stayed up talking til 2:30.

Alie and were so hyped that we looked through the pictures at least 1,000,000,000 times and stayed up til 4 talking about how cute he is.

WELCOME HOME DJ.
